When to call us

Call as soon as you can if you have:

  • A toothache that keeps you up or won't go away
  • A cracked, chipped or broken tooth
  • A tooth that was knocked out or pushed out of place
  • Swelling in your gums or face, or a bump on the gum
  • A lost filling or crown
  • Pain or swelling around a wisdom tooth

If you have swelling that makes it hard to breathe or swallow, a high fever, or a serious injury to your face or head, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room first.

What to do before you get here

Knocked-out tooth: pick it up by the top, not the root. Rinse it gently without scrubbing. If you can, place it back in the socket and bite on a clean cloth. If not, keep it in milk and call right away. Time matters.

Broken tooth: rinse with warm water, save any pieces, and use a cold compress on the outside of your cheek to ease swelling.

Toothache: rinse with warm water and gently floss to remove anything stuck. Don't put aspirin directly on the gum. Over-the-counter pain relievers taken as directed can help until you are seen.

Lost crown: keep it safe and bring it with you. Avoid chewing on that side.

How we help

Our office is open Monday to Thursday from 8 AM to 5 PM and Friday from 8 AM to 2 PM. Call us during those hours and our team will work you in as soon as possible. Your dentist will find the cause of the pain, get you comfortable, and explain the options to fix it, whether that is a filling, a crown, a root canal or an extraction.

If you are anxious, ask about our sedation options. Comfort matters most when you are already hurting.

Common questions

Can I be seen the same day?

We do our best to see emergencies quickly. Call 903-572-4141 as early as you can and our team will find the soonest opening.

What if it happens after hours?

Call our office and listen for instructions. For trouble breathing or swallowing, heavy bleeding that won't stop, or a serious injury, go to the emergency room or call 911.

Should I go to the ER for a toothache?

An ER can help with pain and serious swelling, but it usually can't fix the tooth. Call us so we can treat the cause.

Do you see new patients for emergencies?

Yes. New patients are always welcome. Bring your insurance card and a list of any medicines you take.
